Wellness Services is dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding mental health, providing education, and improving resiliency so students and staff can live a more fulfilling life.
We want to help students, staff, faculty and the community improve their mental health by participating in screenings, attending workshops, providing educational opportunities and partnering with various on and off-campus entities to engage individuals in activities which support mental well-being.
We offer suicide intervention and prevention training for all students, faculty and staff. Wellness Services is available to speak to classes or groups about any mental health topic. The Wellness Educator is the advisor for Active Minds, a student organization which is extremely active on campus to end the stigma surrounding mental illness. Wellness Services works to ensure everyone on campus knows the signs and symptoms of a possible mental health issue and knows how to talk to individuals and provide them with the resources they need.

Active Minds is a student organization dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding mental health. The group meets regularly to discuss mental health topics and provide support to one another. Their current goal is to ensure everyone on campus has the information on resources at their fingertips. Active Minds sponsors movie nights, trivia nights, virtual gaming, and assists in other programming designed to encourage connections and support learning. The first president of Active Minds, Cayla Vertreese, was chosen as one of ten students across the country to be a part of the National Student Advisory Board. You do not need to be a member to attend an Active Minds meeting, all are welcome.
